On Being Productive

You and I have something in common.   Yes indeed.  Even at opposite ends of the world, both of us have same amount of time each day. No surprise here. But how each of us utilizes our time sets us apart.

Allow me to geek out for a second: Productivity is measured by achievement divided by time.  How one defines the achievement or time is relative. But one thing is certain that being busy does not equate to being productive.

In other word, running around in circles is not productive unless you are a runner. Motion alone, despite sweats pouring down the eyebrows, only indicates how busy and not a measure of productivity.

The distinguishing factor is the degree to which the achievement is aligned with one’s values.  We all have the same amount of time each day.  Best to know where we are headed and why.

How do you know that you are being productive?
