Answers! Answers! Answers!

Information provides answers.

When people seek information, they are looking for answers.  Answers to their questions.  Whatever their questions may be.

So when conveying information, a rule of thumb is to ensure the information we provide answers the question. How hard can that be?  Straight forward, right?

Nah.  In our hurried daily life, the question often gets lost in the transactions, not clearly formulated, distorted or misinterpreted. And on the flip side, the receivers can jump to conclusion, not pay attention, or simply not have the answer.

It is miraculous that how much we successfully communicate.

Interestingly, the best answers is simple.  Because they ANSWER the questions. Straight to the point.  Not long-winded, bureaucratic, beat-around-the-bush kind.  How often do we get that – our questions satisfactory answered?

So next time when presenting information ask yourself:  (1) what answers am I providing? (2) what questions are people asking?  (3) Do I adequately address the clients’ questions? or even better, exceeding their expectations?

How are your products or services answering your client’s needs?
