It has been on and off rainning since this morning. Even when I ran the 13 mile long run – all easy pace (9:00 to 9:45), it is drizzling like that.
Yes, the trail is wet and muddy. A few puddles of the size that I have to slow down and work around. Even though I was already wet top to bottom, I don’t want to disregard the rule of keeping your gears dry.
But the rain did keep me cool and people away almost the entire run. I did not need the full bottle of water (although it is always good to be prepared). And hardly anyone else was out there other than me and the animals.
I passed deer, geese, cranes, and turtle. Most of them were busy enjoying themselves in this wet and wonderful weather and were not threatened in sharing the trail with me.
The weather forecast for the remainder of the day includes heavy rain and flash flood warning. Hmm . . . Guess that is another benefit of getting my run in early.
How is your weekend thus far?
